Richard
Yewdall is a Senior Consultant specialising in assisting businesses
that experience problems with Customs Authorities, both in the
UK and abroad. Following a career in H M Customs & Excise,
he worked for thirteen years in the Forensic Accounting section
of a “big five” accountancy firm, where he headed
the team representing clients under investigation by H M Customs
& Excise.
During his
time with Customs, he successfully investigated many cases involving
drugs, armaments and revenue frauds. He also worked closely
with overseas Customs Authorities in Europe and Africa. Latterly
he headed a team dealing with commercial fraud.
Mr Yewdall
has wide experience of UK and European legislation relating
to VAT and customs and excise duties, and has assisted many
high profile companies and individuals by representing them
in VAT and duties tribunals. When appropriate he has prepared
expert reports for Counsel in prosecution cases.
He is a
member of the Academy of Experts and Deputy Chairman of the
International VAT Association.
