Before joining Haymarket as Operations Director, Brian Healy spent 19 years with the Metropolitan Police Service.  He specialised in the investigation of financial crime with the Serious Fraud Office, New Scotland Yard's Fraud Squad and the Central Financial Investigation Unit.

His considerable experience of handling cases of serious and complex fraud, often covering a number of jurisdictions, has made him sensitive to the risks, including financial and damage to reputation, which can face businesses exposed to crime and litigation.

With New Scotland Yard's Central Financial Investigation Unit, Brian’s work focused on anti-money laundering, tracing and recovery of assets and the use of financial investigation techniques to combat organised crime.  Having demonstrated his ability to conduct and present complex financial investigations relating to money laundering and the proceeds of crime, he became an Accredited Financial Investigator within the meaning of the UK's Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.  In January 2003, he was appointed an Honorary Special Agent of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Criminal Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, in recognition of his work.

He is the co-author of a substantial research paper, commissioned by the Corporation of London and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, into the costs and benefits of the United Kingdom’s anti-money laundering requirements.  This work, which was published by the Corporation of London in June 2005, also examines the effectiveness of the UK’s anti-money laundering laws and regulations and what impact they have on the UK’s financial services industry compared with other world financial centres.

Projects managed by Brian cover a range of issues, including corporate fraud prevention and investigation, asset tracing, investigative due diligence and business intelligence. He has particular experienced in dealing with cases involving public company funds raising and verification procedures, investment fraud, insider dealing, procurement processes, construction and grey market computer chip trading. Clients he has recently worked with range from leading law firms, oil and gas exploration companies, investment funds, investment banks, charities, hotel operators, port authorities and airlines.

In recognition of his professional approach to governance and risk in the charity sector, in 2007, Brian was appointed to the Advisory Committee of the Loomba Trust, an international charity aimed at promoting the welfare and education of children of poor widows in India and Africa.  He is also actively involved with the International Institute of Fine Arts, established in India to promote art and culture, and education in the fine arts in conformity with global standards.  Brian is also a member of the Rotary Club of London.
